Grampians Region

The Grampians Regional Strategic Fire Management Planning Committee was established in December 2008 and has a membership representing the has a membership representing the Country Fire Authority, Department of Sustainability and Environment, Parks Victoria, Department of Human Services, Department of Planning and Community Development, Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, Department of Transport, Ararat Rural City Council, City of Ballarat Council, Golden Plains Shire, Hepburn Shire Council, Hindmarsh Shire Council, Horsham Rural City Council, Moorabool Shire Council, Northern Grampians Shire Council, Pyrenees Shire, West Wimmera Shire Council, Yarriambiack Shire Council, Plantations Industry (represented by HVP), Victoria Police, VicRoads, Central Highlands Water, Grampians Wimmera Mallee Water, Powercor, SP Ausnet, Telstra, Victrack, ARTC, Ambulance Victoria and Vline.
The committee completed the development of the second version of the Grampians Regional Strategic Fire Management Plan in January 2011, and this plan will be reviewed in 2012. The committee are currently focused on supporting the development of Municipal Fire Management Plans for each of the eleven municipalities in the Grampians Region by mid 2012. The committee is supported and directed in its functions by the State Fire Management Planning Committee.
