State Fire Management Planning Committee
The State Fire Management Planning Committee (SFMPC) has been created to ensure a consistent, sustainable and integrated approach to fire management planning across Victoria.
The State Committee is responsible for providing leadership and the development of tools and processes for consistency and continuous improvement in fire management planning. In 2009 the Committee published the State Strategy.
The committee was established by the Coordinator in Chief of Emergency Management (Minister of Police and Emergency Services) and obtains its authority through the Emergency Management Act 1986.
The committee is chaired by Craig Lapsley Fire Services Commissioner and has membership from the following organisations:
